VRChat 2024.4.2p2
December 12, 2024 - Build 1554
Fixes & Changes
- Fixed several memory usage and performance regressions from 2024.4.2.
- Tuned the thresholds for Mip Map Streaming on mobile devices and standalone VR.
- This should lead to fewer blurry avatars.
- Nameplates will now show "Server Processing..." if an avatar that's loading is still being worked on by our security checks.
- Note that over the past few days we've seen some issues with increased load on our backend. This may have caused some avatars to appear "stuck" in a loading state. The expected case is that the processing time for all but the heaviest avatars should be around 15 seconds.
- This will only happen right after uploading a new version of an avatar, or when nobody has used an avatar for an extended period of time.
- We switched to a new brand of film for our Prints.
- They now fade in from white. You can stop yelling at us, photography enthusiasts.
- When thrown, other users will now be able to admire your Print's sweet contrail.
- Gift Drops are now using the "UI" volume slider for their opening effect.
- The Face Mirror is no longer affected by Occlusion Culling.
- Fixed a bug that could cause the local user's name to not be updated in the QM when switching accounts.
- Fixed an issue where typing
{1}
in an input field could break UI elements. - Fixed some issues that could lead to Prints not showing up in the menu, not deleting properly, or not being sorted in the right order.
- Fixed the location text overflowing on the user profile when displaying unexpectedly long locations.
- Fixed some exception log spam related to VRC+ banners.
- The yellow feature callout boxes in the Quick Menu no longer have garbled text.
- The "Join a Group" and "Create a Group" help article buttons on the Main Menu's Groups tab are functional again.
- Fixed an issue that could sometimes lead to keyboard buttons not being interactable in VR.
- This bug triggered specifically after closing the Quick Menu in certain scenarios, including while pointing at a remote user.
- Fixed a physics bug that caused severe framerate drops in complex worlds when grabbing certain objects, including Prints and Personal Mirrors.
- Android Mobile: Fixed blue highlight effect on interactable world objects.
- Android Mobile: When logging in from an unexpected location the proper error message is now shown, instead of one claiming your credentials are incorrect.
Known Issues
- The Rebake Offsets When Unfrozen advanced setting for VRChat Constraints is not behaving as it should. We're aiming to fix this early next year.
