Groups

The Groups system is designed to make it easier for communities to organize in VRChat, as well as to make it easier for people to find communities that match their interests. You can access Groups both within VRChat, as well as on the VRChat website.

Fundamentally, there are two core parts of Groups: joining a group or making a group.

Joining a Group

All VRChat users have the ability to join Groups. There are a few ways to do so, depending on if you're using VRChat, or if you are navigating the website.

The simplest way to join a Group is to use a shortlink. All Groups have a shortlink assigned to them that they can hand to other VRChat users. When you go to that particular shortlink, you'll be taken to that Group's page, where you'll be able to join it.

You can also join a Group by using its unique discriminator/identifier combo. Generally, these will looking something like TEST.1234. As a note, the discriminator (the part before the period) will always be between 3 - 6 characters, which can be chosen when a Group is created. The last four digits, however, are random.

If a friend tells you to join their Group, and they hand you a code that looks like that, you'll be able to enter it either into the website or the VRChat app (under the Groups section in the Main Menu).

Once you either use a shortlink or a code, you'll be taken to the Group's page. Depending on how the Group is setup, you might be able to join immediately, or you might have to ask permission. It's also possible the Group will be locked so that you won't be able to join at all without a direct invite from a Group member.

Making a Group

While all VRChat users can join Groups, only VRChat Plus subscribers can create Groups. Likewise, users are able to create up to three unique Groups.

In order to make a Group, you'll have to navigate to the VRChat website. Once you've signed in, you can go to the Groups section and
